Hey Greg,
Thanks for posting a comment. It makes me know that there are people out there that actually read this thing
This is just in response to the comment you left on my blog. To answer the first question, I think the recording industry has to be there. The music industry needs the recording industry to provide their services. Again, I’m not condemning the recording industry. The marriage of the music and the record industry is needed to pay the bills. . . people have to eat, right?
I’m merely saying that for Simmons to say the music fans killed the recording industry and the industry is dead is a somewhat what shrewed comment. The music fans do what they do. They find music and any way possible. Take this strange example. Let’s say you have a large group of people that want to eat pizza. Some will go to Pizza Hut, Dominos, Little Ceasars, etc… Some who are broke will come together as a group and make the pizza together. It’s a hippie style of thinking but it’s a different way to look at it.
Also, if you’re saying that the artists won’t make any money, then that’s what I was stating before that the record industry will have to find a new way to generate money. Live shows, memorabilla, special dvd or cd packaging . . I’m not sure but they’re gonna have to get creative because I see nothing wrong with sharing music with one another.
